Bishop Auckland League - Witton Park Rose and Crown came from behind to beat the visiting St. Helens Wheatsheaf when Paul McConnell beat the Billy Gargett in both the captains games to win by the odd point.
In the singles the Rose and Crown had two points from Graeme Maughan and one each from Paul McConnell, Stuart Barker and Albert Lowes, while the Wheatsheaf had two points from Alan Young and one each from Billy Gargett, David Bradshaw and David Ebdon. Bradshaw and Ebdon then took the doubles to put the visitors ahead but then they went down to defeat in the deciding captains games.
Crook Olde Horse Shoe lead the table by 19 points with second placed, Bishop Auckland Derby ten points ahead of Spennymoor Ashtree, who have a match in hand.

Tow Law Black Horse B won the battle of the teams without a victory this season when they entertained the Tow Law New Market A and won in the deciding doubles. The ladies team from the Black Horse had singles wins from Heather Laing, Angela Armstrong, Sylvia Goodall and Elaine Jefferson with Bill Goodall and John Hodgen replying for the visitors. The New Market A then levelled by taking the first two doubles to set up the decider where the Black Horse pairing of Chris Suddes and Elaine Jefferson beat Bob Plews and John Hodgen.
