A MAJOR improvement project is planned to give a total makeover to a neglected park.
About £100,000 is to be spent on Falsgrave Park in Scarborough - and the local community is being asked to make their suggestions for the work.
Questionnaires are being sent to all the local households asking for opinions, and an information board has been erected in the park.
Youngsters are also being encouraged to play their part, with the setting up of a creative workshop where they can help design the new look.
Tom Mutton, the design and development officer with the resort's parks and countryside services department, said the aim was to reverse the decline of recent years.
"To ensure that the project is successful we need local people and park users to give us their opinions and ideas on what should be done.
"Now that the project has been approved we can start immediately with the process of involving the community."
