Eurocell Marshall Tufflex Darlington and District League - All six matches in Division A were cancelled and in Division B only three went ahead.

Eryholme were involved in an interesting game at Ingleton and won by four wickets after the home side had scored 148 for seven.

Paul Watson hit one six and seven boundaries scoring 43 and Graham Elgey added 36 with six fours.

Charlie Walker bowled unchanged in the Eyrholme attack and captured three wickets for 49 runs in 17 overs when Dillon Wood had four for 55 from 12 overs.

Responding Eryholme were given a good send off by Peter Warne who 42 included one six and four boundaries. Later Wood added 46 with eight four to help his side to victory for the loss of six wickets, three of them falling to Chris Easby for 54 runs in 14 overs.

Dales staged their game with Witton-le-Wear, but lost by eight wickets after being dismissed for 95 of which Simpson top scored with 33. Brack took five for 38 for Witton-le-Wear who romped home losing two wickets as opener Chrisp carried his bat for 38 and Evans added 27.

Haughton had 34 runs in hand of Cliffe.

McGuire top scored with 51 leading Haughton to a useful 149 for nine with Adamson capturing four wickets for 40 in the Cliffe attack.

When they replied Cliffe were grateful to opener Tennick for his 40 but the inning closed on 115 as Edwards took four wickets for 15 runs.

Pyeroy Willis Elliott Cup

Whickham reached the semi-finals with a comprehensive victory against Blaydon. Batting first Whickham ended on 121 for the loss of three wickets as Andy May hit two sixes and a couple of boundaries in a top scoring 47 and Chris Davidson added 37, with three fours.

Blaydon never got to grips with the big target and at stumps were 79 for seven of which Gary Stewart contributed 27 with no fewer than five boundary shots. Adam Ainley was in top form with the ball for Whickham and in five overs took four wickets for 22 runs. He was unlucky not to take a hat-trick when he had a catching chance put down.

Annfield Plain also made progress at the expense of Lanchester, who were restricted to 75 for nine which included 30 by Kevin Dixon with one six and three boundaries.

Batting first Annfield Plain ended with the huge total of 160 for seven.

Chris Robinson top scored with 35 hitting one six and five fours while Chris Halliday had a couple of sixes and five boundaries in 31. Best performer with the ball in the Lanchester attack was Dean Halliday with three for 23 from two overs.

Bishop Auckland

Last week Bishop Auckland CC relieved the gloom of their league season, enjoying a friendly match at home to London side Walthamstow. Bishops beat the touring side by 32 runs after setting a target of 288-2 in 35 overs.

Bishops had the visitors all out for 256 with eight balls to spare.

Guest Dayton Butler, the Evenwood professional, scored 119 not out in the first innings, with Bishops' Aaley Haider making 68, Mick Butler 42 and Darren Blenkiron 51no. In the second innings, Harry Smurthwaite took 5-32 in his 4.4 overs for Bishops and Andrew Lee took 2-25.

Roseberry Group North-East Durham League

Wearmouth maintained their slender lead over East Rainton in division one when they dismissed Medomsley for 31 and won by nine wickets.

Saab Dillon captured six wickets for 14 runs in 11.3 overs and Stephen Hill took the other four wickets for 14 runs in 11 overs when Medomsley were sent back followed 22.3 overs.

Wearmouth took their time and batted 17.4 overs losing one wicket as they reached their target and claimed maximum points.

East Rainton are second following their eight wickets success at North Bitchburn. When they batted first the home side totalled 112 for seven which included 37 by Dunn, while for East Rainton, Fleming had the outstanding figures of five for 29. Colin Henderson then guided East Rainton to victory when he carried his bat for 71 out of a total of 109 for two.

Washington had 19 runs to spare following a high scoring game with Littletown. The home team made 188 for nine and although there were several useful contributions, the top score came form opening batsman Thompson with 46. Strong took six of the nine wickets to fall for 80 runs and in reply Littletown reached 169 before they lost their last wicket. Nelson almost won the game for Littletown scoring 83 and Kent added a valuable 40 while for Washington Bowes took five wickets for 34 runs.

Belford House just edged Benwell Hill by five runs. Batting first the Wearsiders realised 139 for six of which Duncan Forrest contributed 52. Responding Benwell Hill were in with a chance so long as opener Hamilton was at the wicket. He made the game's top score of 62 but when the overs expired Benwell Hill managed 134 for eight with Steve Crewe capturing five for 53 and Steve Wright four for 17 in the Belford House attack.

Hospitals ended on 151 and the top contributions were extras on 38 before Coxhoe won losing seven wickets. Bloomfield and Strange both took three wickets for Coxhoe and when they batted the home side were indebted to Bloomfield (57no) and Newton (34no) who put together an unbroken partnership for the eighth wicket. Tansey and Shaw each claimed three wickets for Hospitals.

Coundon and Newton Aycliffe are promoted from division two and the pair will now fight it out in the remaining two matches for the championship.

Coundon sent Burnhope back for 34 runs in 12.1 overs as Stephen Tobin took four for 19 and Chris Murray six for 12. Coundon needed 3.2 overs scoring 35 without loss and the entire game last only 15.3 overs.

Newton Aycliffe overtook the Belmont total of 120 with six wickets in hand when Stuart Mitchie carried his bat for 41 and Karl Wheeler ended unbeaten on 20 as the pair put together a useful unbroken stand for the fifth wicket.

Batting first Belmont were all out for 120 which included 38 by Ian Steel and for Newton Aycliffe Ian Maddison took three for 39 and Steve Davison four for 29. Promotion means that Newton Aycliffe have progressed from division three to division one in successive seasons.

Hunwick had 61 runs in hand of Kelloe. Breen top scored with 64 and Keegan added 43 to the Hunwick total of 204 for nine with Bowery claiming six for 61. Responding Kelloe ended on 143 for seven which included 38 by Allan and 33 from McDonald. Pratt bowled economically in the Hunwick attack in taking three wickets for 14 runs.

Washington defeated East Rainton by 23 runs. Defty with three for 13 was the most successful bowler for East Rainton when Washington batted first and finished on 131 for eight which included 45 by Birrell.

In reply East Rainton were all out for 108 with Todd returning six for nine and Fallon returning three for 28.
