The Simon Brown Benefit Committee has arranged three events in the next couple of weeks, writes MALCOLM PRATT.
On Thursday, August 30, a Durham County side including several regular first-team players, will line up against former Sunderland footballers at Ashbrooke, Sunderland starting at 5.45 pm. Admission is £3 with concessions at £1 for senior citizens and children.
Richie Pitt, Vic Halom, Micky Horswell, Bobby Kerr, Richard Ord and Paul Atkinson have all agreed to turn out. In the evening Brown will host a question and answer session in the Ashbrooke pavilion starting at 8.30 pm when Jimmy Montgomery and Jimmy McNab will be in attendance. Pie and peas will be served and the cost is £7.

On Thursday, September 6, Brown will be at Philadelphia CC for another question and answer evening when he will be accompanied by Durham Board director Tom Moffat. Tickets can be obtained from the club house on 0191 5841348 or from Malcolm Pratt on 0191 3890484.
The next day (September 7) supporters have the opportunity to join Brown and the Durham players at the Riverside when a barbecue-style meal will be served and the live band Stormy Monday, will perform. Tickets, £10 each, from the club shop at the Riverside or Tom Moffat on 0191 3880421.
