COMEDIAN Seymour Mace has won a place in the final of an Edinburgh Fringe Festival comedy competition, despite losing in an earlier heat.
The former street performer, from Jarrow, Tyneside, impressed judges enough for them to allot him one of two wild cards.
Mr Mace, 32, will compete in the final of Channel 4's So You Think You're Funny on Sunday, at the Gilded Balloon venue in Edinburgh, before judges including TV presenter Graham Norton and Alan Partridge star Steve Coogan.
"Win or lose, it'll be a great night and good fun," he said.
