AN ANIMAL rescue centre is making an impassioned plea to cat lovers to help re-home some of its feline guests.
Eldon Hope Animal Rescue, in Newton Aycliffe, is currently full to capacity and desperately needs to find loving homes for the cats there.
Alex Winwood, from the charity, said: "At this particular time of year, with the holidays, animals seem to be here a long time which means we can't help any more.''
One of the older characters at the cattery is 11-year-old Kitty whose owner died.
He has been described as a good-natured Tom who is used to the company of an old gentleman.
Mrs Winwood said: "Small bundles are good fun and a cat is a small bundle.
"They give hours of pleasure and entertainment and they are good company, especially for older people who are possibly on their own.''
Anyone who would like to offer one of the cats a home should contact Mrs Winwood on (01325) 314371.
