DISABLED people may soon benefit from special pedestrian crossings at Kirkbymoorside.
The town council heard that North Yorkshire County Council's highways department has earmarked £5,000 to provide crossings for disabled people.
Suggested sites in the area include Crown Square and Sturdy Court.
Meanwhile, the town council is offering to help resolve an impasse between the county authority and Ryedale District Council over which should be responsible for cutting small areas of grass verges not covered by existing agreements.
