FIREFIGHTERS climbed the wall of a shopping centre 740 times at the weekend, to raise money for a disabled teenager.
About 12 firefighters from Red Watch at Middlesbrough scaled 29,000ft, the height of Mount Everest, at the town's Cleveland Shopping Centre to raise money for Mark Cook, who was left disabled after a car crash earlier this year.
His family is trying to raise £4,000 to take him to France to undergo a new treatment.
Firefighter Mick Halasz organised the event, which saw the team climb a 45ft ladder 740 times.
He said: "It was a bit of fun for a very good cause. I do not know Mark personally, but it was one of my colleagues who got him out of the car when the accident happened five months ago.
"We hope we raised as much money as possible."
