A STUDENT from the North-East has won one of the most coveted awards at his Oxford College.
Andrew Tucker, from Bishop Auckland, County Durham, has graduated from Robinson College at Oxford University with a first in geography and the Robinson Prize, awarded to the most distinguished student in the college.
The former head boy at King James I Community College, Bishop Auckland, has studied throughout the country and in the US and Canada.
After a year spent travelling and researching he will begin a career as a corporate lawyer.
He said: "I was overwhelmed to receive the Robinson Prize and during a recent visit back to King James I college I was happy to congratulate many of my teachers, without whom none of this would have been possible."
