A TOP training company is cooperating with a leading supermarket chain to make the processes of management trouble-free.
Access Training, one of the largest training pro-viders in the region, is working with management train-ees at the North Eastern and Cumbrian Co-op.
So far, five candidates have successfully completed their Key Skills in Application of Numbers and Information Technology with the company, which is based at Team Valley, Gateshead, as part of a management training programme organised by the Co-op.
They have gone on to take Assessor Awards, which means that they will be able to supervise young NVQ Retail candidates through their studies in-store.
Kevin Besford, Shaun Fernandes, Lee Heron, Patricia McCready and Diane Wraith started the awards in January, and are due to finish in the summer.
Julie Reay, the trainer at Access who is working with the candidates, said:"The Assessor Awards are all about assessing the performance of the candidates doing NVQ qualifications."
"Once they have taken managerial positions at the Co-op, they will be able to carry out assessments on new NVQ candidates as they perform day-to-day duties."
Claire Whiteman, training officer at North Eastern and Cumbrian Co-op, said:"We use Access as they look after our trainees and are very thorough in their training method. The candidates get a lot out of these courses, and the Co-op benefits as a result."
Access Training deliver Modern Apprenticeship and NVQ training in a variety of subjects. They have links with more than 250 employers, and have helped 3,000 people into jobs. For further information about Access courses and programmes, contact 0191-487 4454.
