ANIMAL lovers enjoyed one of the North-East's most popular attractions again this weekend, after it reopened following the height of the foot-and-mouth crisis.
Pets' Corner, in Jesmond Dene, Newcastle, opened on Saturday and visitors had access to the goats, pigs and sheep for the first time in months.
The site was partly reopened a few weeks ago, when the public could visit the birds, Shetland ponies and rabbits.
Amanda Watson, of the ranger service, said: "Pets' Corner is an extremely popular attraction for visitors and we realise how disappointed the public has been that we have had to keep it closed in the past few months.
"We know people will be pleased that it is back in business and I'm pretty sure the animals will be happy as well."
