SOME serious military hardware was on display at a North-East museum yesterday.
Seventy examples of military metal ranging from bicycles to heavy-tracked armour were on parade at the Durham Light Infantry Museum, at Aykley Heads, Durham City.
Heavy artillery on show included two Second World War Vickers 3.7 anti-aircraft guns that shot Nazi warplanes out of the sky over the North-East coast.
The was also a wartime cook-house, headquarters office, field dressing station, a fully-functional radio and communications centre, and a selection of outdoor military stalls.
There was also a bird of prey display by the Prince Bishop's Falconers.
