OLYMPIC golden girl Tanni Grey-Thompson made an impression when she visited a North-East museum.
The 31-year-old, who won four medals at the Paralympics in Sydney, was at the National Glass Centre, in Sunderland, yesterday, where her handprint was cast in glass.
Tanni, who was born with spina bifida, was at the museum for a magazine photo shoot but took time out make the print.
The cast was made by pressing her hand into sand to make a mould, which was then filled with molten glass.
It will be included in the museum's sandcasting exhibition, along with photographs of the entire process.
Tanni, who lives in Redcar, east Cleveland, was the latest North-East celebrity to make a print. Others include Newcastle Falcon's director of rugby Rob Andrew and Wearside agony aunt Denise Robertson.
A spokeswoman for the museum said: "We were thrilled Tanni could be part of the exhibition.
"We hope that over the next two or three months we will be able to get a few more celebrities to take part."
