EXPERTS had the ancient art of lacemaking all sewn-up at a North-East museum at the weekend.
Beamish Open Air Museum held a demonstration of the craft and had their own collection on display. The two-day event was organised by Beamish and Northumbria Lacemakers, a group of enthusiasts from all over the region who answered questions from visitors. Among the group members was Norma Reay, above, who is displaying a Heniton lace collar owned by the museum. Also on display, from the museum's own collection, were bobbin, needle and applique laces from Britain and overseas.
