A Guisborough woman has received recognition for her help in a local charity shop.
Ruth Cartwright has worked as a volunteer at the Help the Aged shop, in the Market Place at Guisborough, for five years and was presented with a certificate by Councillor Vilma Collins, mayor of Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council, for her efforts and hard work.
Mrs Cartwright decided to become a volunteer after her children grew up and she was looking for a new interest.
She now spends two days a week at the shop and is part of a team of 18 volunteers.
Alison Gibson, shop manager, said: "This is a very special occasion for us all.
"The Help the Aged shop in Guisborough recently celebrated its sixth birthday and we would not have been here that long without our wonderful volunteers.
"I would like to thank Ruth and the other volunteers for their hard work and continuos support.
