POLICE are continuing their search for witnesses to a fatal road accident which happened at the weekend.
The crash, on the B6278, near Folly Top, Eggleston, County Durham, claimed the life of 17-year-old Belinda Blagg.
The Middlesbrough teenager is believed to have been thrown from the F-registered Vauxhall Nova when it hit a stone wall, at 11.40pm on Saturday.
Belinda was one of five youngsters travelling in the car, although initial reports incorrectly suggested there had been eight people in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
Police said it could be several weeks before an investigation into the accident is completed.
However, a police spokes-man said they were still keen to talk to any witnesses to the crash.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the accident investigation unit, at Durham Police headquarters, on 0191-386 4929.
