Durham and District League - Leeholme moved nine points clear at the top following their whitewash success over the relegated King George V.
Second placed, Ever Ready/Craghead struggled at Bowburn, where they just edged through to a two points victory, a result which gives Crook Glenholme an outside chance of landing the runners-up spot.
Coxhoe came through to an 89 shots to 59 victory at home to Shotton with both teams certain of First Division status next season.

The Second Division has been shaken up by the removal of Stockton Elm Tree, who were unable to complete their fixtures. Vane Tempest completed their programme and got out of the relegation area with a whitewash win over the visiting Addison Park by 109 shots to 39.

Witton Gilbert and Wheatley Hill both ensured their promotion from the Third Division with wins in their penultimate matches. Witton beat the visiting Newton Hall by two points, whilst Wheatley Hill only dropped one point to Wolsingham, who they beat by 90 shots to 50.

Shildon Railway A's late bid to avoid relegation from the First Division just failed by a single point when they were held to a home draw by Sherburn Village so they now join Mainsforth into next season's Second Division. King George V just saved themselves when they took two points from their match at Langley Park.
Despite losing at Bishop Auckland, Willington managed to score the two points they needed to clinch the Second Division Championship. Crook Glenholme take the second spot after they edged Wolsingham into third place with a two points home win over their rivals.
The Third Division Championship and other promotion spot are wide open. Currently Langley Park and Cockton Hill share the top spot but the Park have two games to play, whilst the Hill have completed their programme. Shildon Town are two points adrift with one game to play, whilst Belmont are three behind with two games to play.

Wilf Marsh Trophy
This pretigious competition between Sunderland and District League, Hartlepool and District League, the East Coast League and the Durham and District League will be held at Houghton Dairy Lane on Saturday and Sunday 8 and 9 September.
On Saturday morning at 10am Sunderland and District will play Durham and District whilst Hartlepool and District will start at 10.30am against the East Coast League. After lunch the second matches will begin at 2pm with the round robin being completed with morning and afternoon matches on Sunday.
SWD Vets Team Pairs Final
Mainsforth made up for their disappointment at being relegated from the First Division when they took the team pairs title by beating Second Division Durham City by 44 shots to 31.

Darlington Veterans League
Congratulations go to Ron Fort who defeated Les Walker in the final of the Champion of Champions 21-14. An entertaining game marked by E Mortimer in the absence of the president saw some excellent bowling by both players on a rink perfectly prepared by Woodland bowling club.
