Worthington CIU Summer League - Wheatley Hill A went down to their second consecutive defeat when they entertained Shotton Palms, but still seem likely to take the League Championship as they still hold a seven points advantage with just three matches left.
Ronnie Peacock put the Hill ahead but then Paul Hickman, Barry Hall and Jimmy Evans took the visitors to victory, whilst Alan Hall took the final frame for the home side.
Second placed, Old Shildon dropped two vital points on their visit to Spennymoor A, who desperately needed the points in their attempt to stave off relegation. Jossie Aldworth, Stephen Bennett and Billy Goggins put the visitors into a winning position but the Moors fought back with wins from Paul Biddle and Keith Welch.

Meadowfield share the third spot with Langley Park, who were without a match, and Sherburn Village. Crook Belle Vue entertained Meadowfield and scored through Norman Slack and Harold Lomax but Craig Hughes and John Jackson equalised. In the decider the visitors went to victory when Norman Smith beat Derek Potts.
Sherburn Village made a good start at Newhouse B with a win for Scott Mallaburn. However the home side took over with wins from Tom McQuillan and David Jackson before Peter McGowan levelled the match. In the decider, Sherburn's Alan Bower beat Paul Thompson.
Spennymoor B hold a ten point lead at the top of the Third Division after they were never headed at Leeholme A. Micky Anderson put the Moors ahead with Barry Shaw equalising. Phil Wilson restored the Moors lead only to see Carl Brown level. In the decider the Moors, Kurt McCormack beat Ray Gill.
West Auckland look likely runners-up in the Third Division after they only dropped one point to the visiting Leeholme B, who had Stephen Bainbridge as their only winner. Andrew Sugden, Chris Kitch, Paul Smith on an impressive debut and David Geraty won for West.
Hunwick moved into third place, two points adrift of West Auckland after they completed an odd point home win over Tow Law. Arnold Fleming, Barry Fleming and Des Mason put the home side into a winning lead but Doug Watson and Tommy Williams fought back for the Lawyers.
