A THEME park worker who was arrested over the death of a talented student in a rollercoaster accident will not face any criminal charges, police said today.
The man was arrested on June 24, four days after Durham University student Gemma Savage was involved in a collision between two cars on the Treetop Twister ride at Lightwater Valley, near Ripon, North Yorkshire.
Miss Savage, 20, suffered severe injuries in the accident and was airlifted to hospital, where she later died.
The engineer, in his 40s and from the Harrogate area, was due to answer police bail on Tuesday but this has now been cancelled.
A joint investigation into the incident is still being carried out by North Yorkshire Police and the Health and Safety Executive.
