A FAMOUS Teesside bridge is to be featured in a revival of the class- ic 1980s comedy Auf Wiedersehen Pet.
Middlesbrough's Transporter Bridge will be used for several days' filming of the show based on the exploits of Geordie bricklayers.
First screened by ITV, it is being revived by BBC1 and will see the characters heading to Arizona. All but one of the original cast will return for the programmes, due to be screened next year.
Newcomer Noel Clarke will join the now established stars Jimmy Nail, Tim Healy, Kevin Whately and Timothy Spall.
The Teesside filming harks back to the original shows, which were directed by Norton-born Franc Roddam.
To make way for the crews, the Transporter will be closed for several days throughout September. There will be an hourly bus service to compensate, and Middlesbrough Council apologises for any inconvenience.
The dates and times of the closures are: Wednesday, September 5, from 10am-12noon; Friday 7, 1pm to 5pm; Sunday 9, 8am to noon; Monday 17, 8am-10am; Tuesday 18, 8am to 7pm; Thursday 20, 10am to 7pm and Friday 21, 6.30am to 7pm.
There will also be disrupted services on Thursday, September 13 and Wednesday, September 19.
