POLICE hunting a hit-and-run driver who killed a cyclist last week have more clues to go on after checking vehicles using the same road a week after the accident.
More than 200 vehicles were stopped on the A658 between Harrogate and Pool-in-Wharfedale, North Yorkshire, on Wednesday night - with 22 confirming they were on the same route at around the time of the incident.
Three more remembered seeing the cyclists who were hit and will be interviewed in more detail at a later date.
Stefan Forge, 47, of Harrogate's Hookstone Avenue, was knocked down near North Rigton after midnight on Thursday.
His companion, 42-year-old Jonathan Wastling, also from Harrogate, needed hospital treatment for serious injuries.
