A CHILDREN'S hospice is looking for volunteers to take part in a fundraising dragon boat race at the weekend.
Six teams signed up for the event, in aid of the Butterwick Children's Hospice in Stockton, but one dropped out at the last minute.
The organisers are looking for another team to take part in the competition, which will be held on Saturday on the river Wear, in Durham City.
No experience is necessary and everyone taking part will receive a briefing from members of Durham City's resident dragon boat team, the Three River Serpents.
Racing will start at 11am and will finish at about 4pm.
The event will include a barbecue at lunchtime, which costs £3 a head, rowing machine racing and a tug of war.
Anyone who would like to take part should contact Barbara Marr on (01642) 624231.
