CLEVELAND Search and Rescue was called to the aid of a rider who had fallen off her horse.
The incident happened on Thursday afternoon, in Errington Woods, at Marske, east Cleveland.
The woman rider, from Redcar, was thrown backwards when her horse reared up, and she suffered various injuries.
Other riders in her party raised the alarm and the ambulance from Guisborough was soon on the scene.
But, because the woman was in a remote location, the search and rescue team was called out to help get her out of the woods.
Using a four-wheel drive vehicle, members of the team took the woman along the forest tracks to the waiting ambulance, after which she was taken to hospital.
It is the fourth time this summer that the team has been called out to incidents in the woods
