A COUPLE returned home to find a burglar climbing out of their kitchen window.
The owners heard noises coming from their kitchen when they returned to their home in Falmer Road, Darlington, at about 3.30pm, on Wednesday.
One of the owners chased the youth, who was joined by an accomplice, before they escaped towards Windermere Court.
The burglar escaped with a Panasonic camcorder in a black canvas case and a quantity of jewellery.
One of the thieves was described as a white male, aged 16 or 17, about 5ft 7in, of medium build, with short, light brown hair.
He was wearing a red and white football shirt.
His accomplice was described as a white male, aged about 16, 5ft 6in, of slim build, with short, dark hair.
He was wearing a white T-shirt.
