AN award-winning artist from Brompton, Northallerton, will exhibit some of her work in a nine-day exhibition in West Yorkshire later this month.
Denise Mathers, who works mainly in pen and ink, watercolours and pastels, will have six examples of her work on show at the autumn exhibition of the British Society of Painters at the Kings Hall/Winter Gardens, Ilkley, from September 15 to 23.
The exhibition will be opened by actress Jean Fergusson, who has played Marina in the television series, Last of the Summer Wine, for the past 16 years. It will have about 225 artists showing 1,295 original paintings.
Mrs Mathers is a regular exhibitor at Ilkley. This year, her work will include watercolours of Bruges, a tawny owl, the water gardens at Fountains Abbey, and hedgehogs done in pastels.
