A STUDENTS' union has been nominated for two awards.
Teesside University Students' Union is up for the Student Union of the Year and Entertainment Club of the Year in the Club Mirror Awards.
The awards, which were established in 1994, are the only ones dedicated to the club industry, and are attended by 600 of the UK's best.
This year's will be held at the National Motorcycle Museum, near Solihull, West Midlands, on November 27, when Teesside will go head-to-head with Sheffield University, last year's Entertainment Club of the Year.
Kay Gibson, president of Teesside Students' Union, said: "We are delighted to be nominated for these awards. It is a testament to the hard work that the Students' Union has put into its commercial operations over the past few years.
"We have developed one of the most diverse and exciting entertainment programmes in the region, and it is rewarding to be recognised on a national level."
The Students' Union houses a 1,000 capacity night club that was refurbished in 1999, and it is now refurbishing the in-house bar.
