POLICE were last night still interviewing a man arrested in connection with the death of Chinese butcher Teng Kong Wong.
Mr Wong, who was 50, died after being knifed in Diana Street, Newcastle, last Wed-nesday.
A police spokesman said the arrest followed excellent co-operation from the Chinese community following Press appeals.
The man arrested, who is in his 30s, is believed to be a member of the Chinese community and is helping police with their inquiries.
Mr Wong, of Diana Street, who was originally from the Macau region of China, was attacked with a long-bladed knife.
He died some time after the attack in Newcastle General Hospital.
