HEALTH visitors are setting up a club in Redcar to give people access to expert advice.
The club, called Family Advice in Your Neighbourhood (FAN) aims to offer parents support and advice based on monthly themes. Drop-in sessions will run every Tuesday, from 10am-11.30am at Redcar Youth and Community Centre, Ayton Drive, Redcar.
The first meeting, tomorrow (tue) will focus on saving a baby's life, and health visitors will demonstrate resuscitation techniques and choking remedies on artificial dolls.
They will also discuss healthy eating for children, and parents will be able to take part in a quiz with a small prize.
A badge-making machine will be there to keep older children occupied. Health visitor Jane Bilton said: "The club meets in the same building as the Good Grub Club and the Mother and Toddler group. We hope to work in partnership with these groups to help parents already in the building to access the support and advice we offer at the same time."
