FIFTEEN teenagers have proved they are top of the league when it comes to attending school.
The youngsters, who are pupils at schools throughout County Durham, have notched up an impressive 100 per cent attendance record during their senior school years.
As a reward, the group will be given a tour of Sunderland AFC's Stadium of Light by Durham County Council, followed by a presentation and celebration with family and friends.
DJ Karen Wright, from Galaxy 105-106, and Councillor Alan Fenwick, vice chairman of the county council, will present the 16 to 18-year-old pupils with their awards on Friday, September 14.
Director of education Keith Mitchell said: "To have completed five or seven years without missing a day at school is no mean feat.
"It speaks volumes for the dedication and commitment of all the young people.
"This is the first time we have formally celebrated this achievement but, with our school attendance rates continuing to increase, I'm sure it will be the first of many.
