BUDDING artists were given a masterclass by one of the country's finest as they appeared before the television cameras. Eleven youngsters from the Richmondshire district gathered at Risedale Community College, Catterick Garrison, for a talk and demonstration from Mackenzie Thorpe, above. Mr Thorpe, who has won national fame through his "square sheep" Christmas cards commissioned by William Hague, was being filmed for the Children's BBC programme, Smart. He staged an arts workshop at the college before returning to his Richmond gallery for an interview.
