A CYCLIST was badly injured when he was involved in a crash with a bus.

The accident happened at about 1pm yesterday as the 18-year-old factory worker left the Seaham Grange industrial estate, in Seaham, East Durham.

He was involved in a collision with a single deck bus on the B1285 and became trapped under the front axle.

The teenager, who is from Fulwell, was released by firefighters and taken to Sunderland General Hospital.

He was treated for multiple fractures to the leg and a broken collar, but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
