THERE was a double celebration for residents of a retirement housing scheme in Stockton recently.
Not only did the residents of Cypress Court celebrate the scheme's tenth anniversary, but they were also awarded the first prize in the Stockton in Bloom competition.
The Mayor of Stockton, Councillor Terry Bean, was guest at the celebration, which was organised by the scheme's residents, the warden and staff from B and N Housing, which owns and manages Cypress Court.
Stephen Bray, B and N Housing's regional manager, said: "It is a great pleasure to be celebrating both the tenth anniversary of Cypress Court and first prize in the Stockton in Bloom competition.
"Residents and staff have worked together to make it a popular place to live, and the beautiful gardens will enhance the scheme."
