POPSTARS Hear'Say - right - kept it Pure and Simple last night as they wowed North-East audiences with their own brand of pop.
The group, plucked from obscurity in televised auditions, last night performed the first of three shows at Newcastle's Telewest Arena.
Last night's date was added to the band's national tour after two shows later in the month at the 11,000-seat ven-ue sold out. Although only 3,500 teenage fans saw them lowered by ropes to the stage last night, as giant TV screens showed the band arriving by helicopter, the shows on September 17 and 18 will be to full houses.
Noel, Suzanne, Danny, Kym and Myleene took the music industry by storm in their first year by selling 600,000 copies of their first single, Pure and Simple - the fastest-selling debut of all time.
