THE decision to resurrect a village show is paying off.
Tudhoe Village Show was revived in 1999 after a gap of eight years. Had it kept running, this would have been the 152nd year.
The show has struggled financially in the last two years, but this year's event, held last weekend, returned a profit.
Organiser Irene Burns said: "We had 46 exhibitors and 232 exhibits, both up on last year, and we are delighted.
"This is the first time we have made a profit since we started up again. We haven't done the books yet, but there will be a healthy balance to got forward to next year's show."
Now that the show is becoming established, organisers are hoping more people will help out. They are already looking for volunteers who can spare a few hours to help with next year's event.
Mrs Burns said: "We desperately need volunteers to help at next year's show which will be during the first weekend in September."
Anyone who is able to help can contact Mrs Burns on (01388) 817113.
