A VICTORIOUS contingent from the National Summer Special Olympic Games in Cardiff showed off their medals to Mayor of Redcar and Cleveland, Councillor Vilma Collins.
The group took their haul of 24 gold, 28 silver, and 37 bronze to the Mayor's parlour at Eston Town Hall and told her about their experiences.
Star performances came from swimmer Paula West, from Marske, and cyclist Andrew Wallace, from Loftus.
Paula, who was competing in her first games, won gold in the 25 metre freestyle, silver in the 25 metre backstroke and was a member of the bronze medal-winning 4x25m free-style relay team.
Andrew won gold in both the 10k time trial and 10k road race.
