A UNIVERSITY is marking European Year of Languages by offering a range of courses to help people expand their skills.
As part of this year's theme, as designated by the European Union, Teesside University is offering evening classes in French and German.
Teesside International Airport is patron of the Languages for Work initiative, with which the courses are linked, and in support of the year is offering trips to France and Germany.
They will be awarded to the business people who make most progress in the languages.
Students who complete the one-year courses will receive a University Certificate in Professional Development.
The fee is £90 per course for those who have not previously taken modules at the university.
Director of Teesside Business School Dr John Wilson said: "For many businesses, language proficiency is a critical success factor, and this is why we are providing the Languages for Work courses.
"In doing so, we are delighted, and very grateful, to receive the support of Teesside International Airport."
Enrolment takes place on Thursday, from 10am to 7pm, at Teesside Business School, in the Clarendon Building, central Middlesbrough, although students can apply up to September 26.
