A RADIO presenter better known for joking about a Teesside bridge encouraged people to abseil from it yesterday.
Century FM's Paul "Goffy" Gough went along to the Transporter Bridge, Middlesbrough, to promote a charity abseil in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care.
The event, on Sunday, September 23, will see charity staff, workers at Calibre Recruitment and their clients descend 160ft from the landmark to raise funds.
Goffy, who regularly makes fun of the bridge's frequent closures, said: "Charity abseilers will be using the bridge on Sunday morning, and that's no joke! They'll get a fantastic view, a thrilling descent and be helping to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care Nurses."
Anyone wanting to take part in the abseil, which will be supervised by professionals, is asked to contact (01904) 621000 for an entry form.
