AT an age when most seven-year-old girls are just beginning to dream of pony riding, Hannah Eger is already a national champion.
The Stanley girl won the Concour d'elegance trophy in Peterborough in her first ever competition.
"She did really well and when she did her lap of honour her dad and I were just overjoyed," said proud mum Leslie.
Hannah learned to ride at the Beamish riding school and was led by 16-year-old Beamish girl Julie Swinburne at the nation-wide championships. She rode three-year-old gelding Scrafton to win the event last week.
