Sunderland boss Peter Reid has turned to French veteran Bernard Lama in a desperate bid to solve the club's 'keeper crisis.
First choice Thomas Sorensen is ruled out for the next fortnight after breaking his nose during Denmark's World Cup qualifier with Northern Ireland at the weekend, whilst number two Jurgen Macho is a major doubt with a thigh injury.
Lama, 38, will discuss a short-term deal today and is expected sign in time to make his Black Cats debut against Blackburn on Saturday.
Reid only has youngsters Michael Ingham and Jon Kennedy as back-up, prompting him to make a move for the former France and West Ham stopper, who is now a free agent.
