Durham and District League - Leeholme landed the League Championship for the second consecutive time and the fourth in six years when they beat their hosts at Mainsforth by two points.
Ever Ready/Craghead fought to the end with a maximum home win over the visiting Coxhoe, whilst third placed, Crook Glenholme surprisingly lost to the wooden spoonists, King George V.
Mainsforth put up a sterling fight against Leeholme, only going down by 68 shots to 71.

The Second Division title had to be decided on shots after Nevilles Cross and Wingate finished level on points. After the shot count back, Nevilles Cross took the title by 1287 shots to 1256 but both teams are promoted. This situation was brought about when Nevilles Cross won their last match by two points at Sherburn Village, whilst Wingate could only manage two points on their visit to Stockton.
Sherburn Village put up a good fight against the visiting Nevilles Cross but went down by 74 shots to 80.

Witton Gilbert are promoted from the Third Division for the first time in their history with a clear seven points advantage over Wheatley Hill, who also go up after only a season in the lowest division.
League secretary, Ian C. Young is looking forward to next season and has already had two tentative enquiries about new teams joining. Durham Millennium Trophy
The first ever handicap team competition for teams in the Durham and District Bowling League was won by Leeholme when they defeated Nevilles Cross by 78 shots to 56.

Durham League Pairs Championship
Semi-final results: B. Richardson & T. Bolas (Crook Glenholme) lost to B. Attwood & D. Quickmire (Leeholme) and A. Bainbridge & D. Belton (Crook Glenholme) beat D. McDonald & R. Bibby (Crook Glenholme).
SWD Veterans League
Belmont clinched the Third Division title with two victories in the last week of the season, whilst Langley Park took the runners-up spot despite losing to Belmont.
The Park took enough points to secure their runners-up place by drawing at Shildon Town, who finish in third place.
The annual meeting of the League will be held at Spennymoor Indoor Centre on Monday, October 1 at 1.30pm.
