SEVEN people have been seriously hurt and at least 30 more injured in a coach crash near York this morning.
Police believe the bus was involved in a collision with a lorry on the A64 near the city's racecourse before it left the road and ended up in a field.
The passengers were all elderly people from the Burnley area on a five-day tour of the Scarborough area.
One of the casualties was airlifted to the Leeds General Infirmary for emergency treatment, with another six with serious injuries were also taken to the LGI and St James's Hospital, also in Leeds.
Meanwhile, a fleet of ambulances has been ferrying the less serious casualties to both York District and Harrogate District Hospitals.
Police have issued an emergency number to deal with calls from worried families.
Anyone who suspects they may have relatives on the bus can contact (01609) 768111.
