A PROMISING young footballer's skills have won him a dream trip to Old Trafford for the second year running.
Ten-year-old Patrick Crewe, who lives at Hurworth, will visit the famous home of Manchester United for a Premiership match later this season.
The talented youngster, who is a Red Devils fan, won the prize at the club's summer soccer school, which took place at Hurworth House school over two days.
The coaches awarded him the most points from a number of skills tests, including ball juggling and control. More than 80 children, aged from eight to 16 years, took part in the event.
Patrick won the same prize last year and finished second in his age group when regional winners from across the country took part in a final skills test on the Old Trafford pitch before the game against Southampton.
The overall winners are awarded a scholarship for the Manchester United residential school.
Patrick, who is a pupil at Red House school, Norton, where his father John Crewe is a PE teacher, is on the development list at Middlesbrough and has already played for the club as a nine-year-old.
Mr Crewe, who was born and brought up not far from Old Trafford, said: "To win it two years running is pretty phenomenal. It can't be just luck if he keeps doing it."
