BUDDING disc jockeys have the chance to make a name for themselves with a new management and promotions company.
The company, called Raw Talent, has been set up in Darlington by an amateur disc jockey.
Shane Fairham, 28, came up with the idea after realising there was no agency coordinating jobs at clubs and pubs with suitable disc jockeys.
He said pub and club managers often asked their disc jockeys if they knew any others to take over when they left.
"Our sole aim at Raw Talent is to seek out and find the finest DJ talent around and then get that talent put on display in the finer pubs and clubs around the North-East," he said.
By having talented disc jockeys on its books, Raw Talent will be able to provide a database for pub and club managers to find the right disc jockey for their venue.
In order to fill the database, undiscovered disc jockeys are being invited to send a 60-minute demo tape with a curriculum vitae and two passport photographs to Raw Talent, at 32 Park Crescent, Darlington.
Shane is planning a disc jockeys live event in aid of the Imperial Cancer Research Fund to showcase some of the talent at The Black Swan Hotel, Parkgate, Darlington, from September 24 to 28. They will also appear at Yates Wine Lodge, Skinnergate, Darlington, on September 23, 24, 27 and 30, and November 7 and 14.
