ONE of the writers of the comedy double bill at South Shields' Customs House this week has a film starring Darlington's Vic Reeves nearly ready for release.
Due out later this year, Stix represents Reeves' big screen debut. Penned by Jan McBride, of Middlesbrough, the movie is about a man and woman who move in with each other and become possessive of their own possessions.
Ms McBride, who wrote the highly-successful Tupperware Party and Two Daft Lasses for the Customs House's drama festival in February, returns with A Cat in the Road, which ends today.
Also on the bill is a first play by North Shields actress Jen Brown, called Angel of My North.
Ms Brown, who studied theatre and performing arts at North Tyneside College, has appeared in Byker Grove, Spender and Dinner of Herbs.
The players for the dramas include Lynn Fairbairn, who has appeared in Coronation Street, David Tarkenter and Neil Armstrong, who has starred alongside Robson Green on TV.
Both plays will be staged for the price of one. For details contact the Customs House box office, on 0191-454 1234.
