POLICE in Durham are hunting thieves who stole bikes and equipment worth £24,000 from a store.
The theft took place at the Specialist Cycles shop, in Frederick Street South, Meadowfield, between 7.30pm on Tuesday and 9.50am the following day.
The raiders' haul included a 27-speed blue Kona Moko cross-country bike, worth £1,800, and a limited edition Kona Scrap jump bike, also blue, worth £800.
Two Daws Team Edition bicycles - a 27-speed Edge Team worth £850 and a 24-speed Edge FS Team model worth £649 - were also taken.
The equipment taken included chains, locks and tyres.
Anyone who saw anything suspicious, or who knows where the cycles are, is asked to call Durham City CID, on 0191-386 4222.
