Guisborough celebrated three wins inside a week with a 3-1 victory at Dunston on Saturday.
Guisborough had a slow start to the season, but it has all suddenly come good for manager Steve Corden and his players.
"The lads are starting to believe in themselves," said Corden.
"There was some doubt in their minds when things weren't going their way, but the wins have done their confidence a world of good."
Dunston took an early lead when Andrew Fletcher scored from a Nick Scaife pass, but Guisborough levelled when Micky Waller opened up the defence for Chris McFee to score.
Guisborough went ahead after 55 minutes when Jamie Allinson scored in a scramble following a corner, and near the end Corden himself scored, with a free kick.
Durham City suffered one of the shocks of the season so far when they lost 3-0 at home to lowly Morpeth at New Ferens Park.
Manager Brian Honour missed the game to spy on FA Cup opponents Louth, and he will be concerned about the number of chances his side missed.
Morpeth took the lead after 49 minutes, when a cross by Richie Bond completely deceived Durham keeper Marc Riches.
They went further ahead after 58 minutes with a goal by Colin Lawton, and eight minutes from the end Riches and defender Richard Ord got in a tangle, and Ord put through his own goal.
Brandon's winning start to the season was ended when they lost 2-0 at champions Bedlington, who have now won their last three matches.
Bedlington took the lead after 23 minutes when Jim Harmison headed in an Anthony Chapman corner. Brandon battled back gamely in the second half but conceded a second via a Dean Gibb header eight minutes from the end.
Whitley Bay are now top of the table after a 3-2 home win over promoted Washington.
They were three goals up by half time. They took a tenth- minute lead through Ian Chandler from a Rob Livermore cross, the a few minutes later Steve Cuggy scored from the edge of the box. Cuggy made it 3-0 witha diving header, but just after half time Lee O'Donovan beat injured keeper John Caffrey from a few yards out.
Caffrey had to go off, and his replacement, Dave Carr, only conceded one more goal, after 66 minutes by O'Donovan.
Tow Law won 2-1 at Billingham Town to hold on to their unbeaten record, but they left it late.
Billingham led after 32 minutes when Paul Rowntree headed in a Steve Osbourne cross, and they looked as if they would hold on until the 85th minute, when Paul Richardson scored from a Marc Eccles cross. Eccles got the winner from the spot after he was brought down.
Marske United recorded their first win of the season by defeating Seaham Red Star 3-0 and lifted themselves off the bottom of the table.
John Woods headed them into the lead after 18 minutes, and they scored two in the last eight minutes. Darren Ward fired home from 12 yards out, then James Mellon made sure right at the end.
Thornaby recovered from three straight defeats with a 3-2 away win at Consett.
Darren Pike pounced on a mistake to put Consett into the lead after 18 minutes. but George Woodhouse levelled from a Dave Lawson back heel shortly after.
Jeff Sugden restored Consett's lead from a Colin McLeod pass, but Woodhouse levelled again after 47 minutes, when a cross from the right fell for him. They grabbed the points a few minutes later, when Tim Hodgkinson ran through.
Newcastle Blue Star had a much-needed 2-0 win over Jarrow Roofing at the Wheatsheaf.
They took the lead after 26 minutes when Paul Hollier scored from a Warren Fisher pass, then Hollier added a second with a solo run just before half time.
In the second division, Penrith have opened up a three-point lead at the top after winning 2-0 at Northallerton.
Crook Town kept their 100 per cent record intact by winning 1-0 at previously second-placed Eppleton thanks to a goal from Trevor Ball.
South Shields are now second after they won at Horden courtesy of a goal from Paul Thompson in the second half.
Shildon moved into third by keeping their 100 per cent record at Shotton, Nigel Bolton scoring a hat-trick.
Evenwood had a bad day, losing 3-0 at Kennek Ryhope CA.
