A WOMAN was warned over her future behaviour after escaping a prison sentence in connection with a glass attack in a night club "cat fight".
Angela Mulcahy admitted causing grievous bodily harm to another woman in the incident at Crocodillo's, in Chester-le-Street, at a previous hearing at Newcastle Crown Court.
Jane Waugh, prosecuting, said, as Mulcahy returned for sentence at Durham Crown Court, yesterday, that her victim needed four stitches for a head wound, while also suffering bruises and scratches to her arm and leg.
Euan Duff, mitigating, said Mulcahy, of previous good character, always denied throwing the glass and believes the head injury was caused in the general scuffle.
Sentencing Mulcahy, of Roslyn Place, Barley Mow, near Chester-le-Street, to 120-hours' community punishment, Judge Michael Cart-lidge said despite her previous good character, when becoming involved in a catfight, the injured party suffered a very nasty cut. This suggested she could lose control with drink.
"I hope you never find yourself in this position again," he said.
