A MAN is still fighting for his life in hospital after a collision with a car in a public park, say police.
Paul Rumney, 42, of Shiney Row, near Houghton-le-Spring, Wearside, suffered head injuries and a collapsed lung, in the crash at fields near Biddick Woods, Shiney Row, on Saturday.
His condition in Sunderland Royal Infirmary was described yesterday as critical but stable.
Police have traced the driver of a blue Ford Fiesta, who is helping them with their inquiries. The car is believed to have been driven over a grass embankment.
Two other people are helping police and inquiries are continuing.
