A CHARITY has literally been left counting the cost of a theft.
Burglars have stolen a computer holding details of the accounts and finances of the Stockton Multiple Sclerosis Group.
The Hewlett Packard computer was bought with National Lottery money less than a year ago.
It was stolen during a break-in at the home of group treasurer David Henderson.
Group vice chairman Celia Lochore said the theft is a set-back for the charity.
She said: "It holds all our financial records and its loss makes life difficult for the treasurer. Like everyone else he has a full-time job, but must now re-collect all the financial details as if he has not got enough to do as it is."
Cleveland Police joined the charity's call for the return of the computer.
