POLICE are advising drivers of potential traffic and parking problems during the Darlington dog show.
The championship show, which is being staged at the town's South Park on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, has attracted thousands of people in previous years.
Police are not planning to close any roads for the event, but people living in Bedford Street and Victoria Embankment are being asked to operate a one-way system to reduce congestion.
Anyone visiting the show is asked to abide by parking restrictions in force for the weekend, and police are urging people not to leave their cars where they might cause an obstruction.
PC David Duncan, of Darlington police, said: "We are asking competitors to display the official pass they have been given in the top left-hand corned of their vehicle windscreens.
"This will be a real help and should keep any delays in getting into the correct car parking area to a minimum."
Drivers are also advised to leave extra time for their journeys
